On Thursday, March 13, 2024, the Bremer County Systems EMS Council convened for the first time at the Tripoli Emergency Building. The council, officially established on March 4, 2025, by the board of supervisors under Iowa Code Title X, Chapter 422D, consists of 15 voting members representing a diverse cross-section of the county.

These meetings are open to the public, and community participation is highly encouraged. The council’s mission is to evaluate the current Bremer County EMS System, develop a plan for its future, and provide recommendations to the board of supervisors. Once the plan is submitted, the board will assess whether a tax levy is necessary to fund the proposal. If deemed essential, the tax levy will be put to a public vote.

Meeting agendas and minutes will be made publicly available on the website at www.bcemsa.org/essential as well as on city web pages, the courthouse, and other designated physical locations.
